I'm a glass-half-full girl living in a glass-half-empty world. Having recovered from Lyme Disease which went undiagnosed for over 15 years, I'm now plunged into coping with Psoriatic arthritis and Psoriasis which I have probably had most of my life in one form or another, albeit undiagnosed until recently. Osteoporosis then struck to complete the picture. Expect musings on cats, music, cooking, gardening, Greece, families and other random stuff.
I have lived in the West Country of England for the last 24 years, having relocated with my job from the Midlands. Fiercely determined that ill health won't stop me enjoying life to the full I was mis-diagnosed for 17 years and was treated for ME and Fibromyalgia only to find I actually had Lyme Disease. I lost a great career and 18 years of my life. Following treatment some symptoms remained. Last year I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis which I am told I have had for at least 15 years. I'm still waiting to start treatment. Even more recently I was told I have severe Osteoporosis as well. I'm now learning what it's like NOT to be a 'bucket-diagnosis, heart-sink' patient, taking stock and re-grouping. I also live with the daily challenge of a clinically depressed Worst Half. I love Greece and music, especially those Boys from Deer Lick Holler, Hayseed Dixie, the best live band in the world. Birdwatching, genealogy, gardening, crafts, grandkids and working on our new house occupy me as well.
